Marcus Turner spent most of his childhood in Bega, NSW, before moving around between Sydney, Broken Hill, Brisbane, and finally settling in Melbourne in 2005, where he now lives with his wife and two children. He is currently studying a Bachelor of Arts with a Professional Writing and Publishing major at Curtin University, and runs a beauty-supply business with his wife. He is presently in the final stages of a novella, A Rose for the Damned, and is also working on his first novel, Land of the Righteous. ‘A Spark of Youth‘ which was published in Aussie Speculative Fiction’s anthology, ‘Beginnings‘ is his first published work. He writes mostly within the speculative fiction genre, predominantly leaning towards horror and sci-fi elements.
In his spare time, Marcus is a hardcore gamer, metalhead, and horror film/literature aficionado, particularly fond of the works of H.P. Lovecraft. If the apocalypse comes because dead-and-dreaming Cthulhu has finally woken up, chances are Marcus had a hand in it. He is also apparently prone to delusions of nightmarish (and short-sighted) grandeur.
Marcus is working on a novella for Aussie Speculative Fiction’s ‘Drowned Earth’ series. You can find an interview with him about that project here.
