It’s been a very busy and exciting week here at Aussie Speculative Fiction!

We have put together our first ever Halloween Book Fair, with a selection of free and discounted books by Australian authors.

Titles include CONCEALED POWER by Michelle Crow and A. A. Warne, THE HARVEST by Alanah Andrews, the REAPER’S ASCENSION series by Shelley Russel Nolan, IRON by Aiki Flinthart, HIDDEN CITY by Alan Baxter and something rather special – THE RISE by Sue-Ellen Pashley – Book One in our Drowned Earth novella series.

These prices are only guaranteed between Halloween and Bonfire Day, October 31st to November 5th 2019, so follow this link to the Halloween Book Fair and get them while you can.

The first two books in our Drowned Earth novella series, THE RISE and FIRE OVER TROUBLED WATER were launched on the 31st of October.

The Drowned Earth novellas are a series of eight standalone stories set in a shared world – Australia after a watery apocalypse.

The eight authors, Sue-Ellen Pashley, Nick Marone, Austin P. Sheehan, Marcus Turner, Jo Hart, S. M. Isaac, C. A. Clark and Shel Calopa (as well as our editors) have all been working hard to bring this idea to life. You can find out more about the Drowned Earth project here.

In THE RISE, Katie survived The Great Rise only for her life to change . . . again. Her peaceful existence on the edge of the Sunshine Coast Hinterland is shattered when she discovers a body floating in the waves.
Unsure who she can trust, Katie embarks on a mission to discover the truth… even if it puts her on the same kill list.

FIRE OVER TROUBLED WATER, is set six years after the Rise. Australia’s coastal towns are gone, lost under the ocean’s unstoppable advance. The survivors have retreated to a series of islands off the coast of New South Wales, seeking to rebuild their lives.
Baz is a fresh water merchant, desalinating saltwater and bartering this valuable commodity throughout the struggling island communities. But his real mission is something closer to his heart, the one thing that has plagued him since the catastrophic rise in water levels: he must find his daughter and grandchildren.
While the rest of the country fights to stay alive, all Baz cares about is reuniting with the only family he has left. His greatest fear is that he’s already too late.
